There is no known cause and no known cure.  Essentially what happens in someone with lupus is that their immune system begins to attack healthy tissue for no apparent reason.  It can affect the joints, skin and organs. <\/p>\n<p>I have been diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis (meaning it damages my kidneys) since January 2005 and have been living with it ever since.  It is a disease that has changed my life dramatically and even though I&#8217;ve been blogging for years I never really wrote in depth about my experience with lupus until now.
