{"id":345,"date":"2011-06-30T15:05:13","date_gmt":"2011-06-30T23:05:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/transcended.net\/?p=345"},"modified":"2011-06-30T15:12:02","modified_gmt":"2011-06-30T23:12:02","slug":"control-issues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/transcended.net\/?p=345","title":{"rendered":"control issues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>These are some crazy times we&#8217;re living in.\u00c2\u00a0 Between the Eurozone meltdown and the debt ceiling crisis here at home, work can sometimes feel like a battle zone.\u00c2\u00a0 I can tell you this much, there is a lot of panic and massive mood swings floating about in the markets.<\/p>\n<p>And then, of course, my husband&#8217;s company announced layoffs and promptly let a bunch of people go.\u00c2\u00a0 Luckily he made it through this time but they were pretty clear about the fact that they aren&#8217;t done.\u00c2\u00a0 He works in the same industry as I do but right now he&#8217;s working for one of those quasi-government agencies so layoffs are pretty rare (unlike investment banks which go through a routine &#8220;pruning&#8221; exercise every year or every few months it seems these days) and that\u00c2\u00a0makes\u00c2\u00a0this all the more that disturbing.<\/p>\n<p>But maybe this is just\u00c2\u00a0God&#8217;s way of\u00c2\u00a0hinting at the fact that I really need to work on trusting <em>Him<\/em> and not in my own plans, as I love to do.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the hubby and I imediately started making contingency plans for what we&#8217;d do if he does lose his job in the near term.\u00c2\u00a0 (Among them?\u00c2\u00a0 Move to Arizona -\u00c2\u00a0which surprised me because if two Cali-born-and-raised-never-lived-outside-of-perfectly-temperate-year-round-weather people like us could consider moving away, the situation here must\u00c2\u00a0look pretty bleak.\u00c2\u00a0 (Hm&#8230;.yup, sure does!).\u00c2\u00a0 Still don&#8217;t know if I could do it, but I never thought it&#8217;d be something I&#8217;d even THINK about).<\/p>\n<p>Guess old habits die hard.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These are some crazy times we&#8217;re living in.\u00c2\u00a0 Between the Eurozone meltdown and the debt ceiling crisis here at home, work can sometimes feel like a battle zone.\u00c2\u00a0 I can tell you this much, there is a lot of panic and massive mood swings floating about in the markets.
